After looking at my almost finished wonderful and quite expensive costume, and the weather the last couple of years in
december, I decided that I need a long coat to protect me from the rain and cold but more importantly my precious velvet
costume from the rain. To stay in style I wanted to make a long victorian coat, redingote style. Alas I couldn't find a pattern
at that time for one. When I had finished it Truly Victorian came with a lovely pattern,
The TV560 1880s Late Bustle Coat As I had no pattern I had
to alter the cuirass bodice pattern, the funny thing is the end result looks a lot like the Truly Victorian pattern, so I guess
I didn't do to bad.
I really loved the look of Mina Harker in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen so I made the coat from black velvet.
For an extra "period" feel, it have added a black braid frog closures and dark brown fur to collar and cuffs, which also
gives the whole coat an extra luxourius look and feel.

Again inspired by the costume of Mina Harker in the movie The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I choose to
make a scarf in the same style, with the red velvet left over from my dress and some black lace. It's is hard
to find images of Victorian Ladies wearing scarfs but I was able to find some.
