My son in a tenth century eastern (rus) viking costume, this outfit is a small version of the costume worn by a grown man.

maygar style Red wool maygar style kaftan, lined with yellow linen, closed with pewter buttons (which would have been silver or bronze in period) and decorated with yellow wool. Underneath this he wears a green wool tunic and a white linen under tunic. His trousers are made of brown linen. Around his neck a simple brown wool hood and on his head a viking hat made from orange wool, it is lined with black wool for reinforcement and warmth and trimmed with fur. He wears simple tenth century type leather shoes made by his dad.
