This is my 10th century viking outfit.
It has three layers, a yellow linen undertunic, a orangered daimond twill woollen tunic dyed with madder (both are the 8-10
century birka tunic pattern) and a shorter amber colored woollen apron dress which is dyed with union skins. Both fabrics I have dyed
myself.
The red woollen apron is based upon a find from the Haithabu harbour.
On the left the actual find on display in the Wikinger Museum Haithabu,
in the middle an indication of the placement of the fragment on the body, and on the right the
museum reconstruction of the upper part of the apron.
Like the museum reconstruction my apron is held up by two brooches, in between those brooches I have two necklaces.
The diagram that I used to make the pattern for my apron dress, which can be found here

On my head I am wearing a silk yellow kerchief I have dyed myself with union skins,
a square cloth folded in half to form a triangle with the two ends knotted behind my head.
Hanging from my brooches are two necklaces with glass and ceramic beads and I am wearing an amber beads necklace around my neck.
